At Alaïa Bay, there are waves on both sides of the machine: lefts and rights.

For Rookie and Rookie Rider levels, this choice doesn’t matter! You surf straight toward the shore and not along the wave’s face.

Starting from the Cruiser level and for a first experience at the Bay, it’s recommended to choose your Frontside (facing the wave).

If you are Regular (left foot forward), we recommend surfing the right wave.

If you are Goofy (right foot forward), we recommend surfing the left wave.

This is just a recommendation for your first session.

In the ocean, you don’t choose the side of the wave—you surf both lefts and rights.

So it’s essential to surf at the Bay both frontside and backside.

Please note that it won’t be possible to change sides during a lesson or session.
